Class descriptions

Beginners/Gentle Pilates:  A mat-based Pilates class for beginners to learn and become familiar with the basic principles of Pilates, before moving on to the Improvers Pilates classes. The time to do this will vary from person to person. It is also the perfect place to refresh your knowledge if you’ve had a break from Pilates; if you’re re-habilitating from an illness or operation; or if you prefer a slower paced, more gentle class. Beth will watch everyone during the class and give individual feedback and advice to help you get the most from the class and, when covid restrictions/practicalities allow, assist with hands on adjustments if you choose.

Improvers Pilates: A mat-based Pilates class suitable for those with some Pilates experience and knowledge of the basic principles. A large range of options and modifications are given to suit various levels of experience and to protect injuries and health issues. Beth will watch everyone during the class and give individual feedback and advice to help you get the most from the class and, when covid restrictions/practicalities allow, assist with hands on adjustments if you choose.

Intermediate Pilates: A mat-based Pilates class for those with a good level of Pilates experience and includes intermediate exercises and the occasional advanced exercise. Options will be given, however, for those not ready for a particular exercise. Beth will watch everyone during the class and give individual feedback and advice to help you get the most from the class and, when covid restrictions/practicalities allow, assist with hands on adjustments if you choose

Express Yoga: A 30 minute yoga blast. An intense vinyasa-style class to build up energy, strength and well-being. Suitable for those with yoga experience or those willing to jump in at the yoga deep end.

Gentle Yoga: A slower yoga class to gradually build up strength, flexibility and well-being. Plenty of options to protect problems areas such as knees, back and wrists. Standing and floor poses. Suitable for those with yoga experience and yoga beginners. Beth will keep an eye on everyone during the class and give individual feedback and advice to help you get the most from the class and, when covid restrictions/practicalities allow, assist with hands on adjustments if you choose.

Dynamic Yoga: A strong, quirky yoga class based on the traditional Chinese philosophy of the five elements (earth, water, fire, air and ether). It will build up strength, flexibility and a sense of mental equilibrium. Suitable for those with yoga experience and yoga beginners with a reasonable level of fitness.

Yoga: A traditional hatha class, with sun salutations, standing and floor poses. Options to suit different levels of yoga experience, strength and to protect problems areas eg knees. Suitable for those with yoga experience and yoga beginners with a reasonable level of fitness. Beth will keep an eye on everyone during the class and give individual feedback and advice to help you get the most from the class and, when covid restrictions/practicalities allow, assist with hands on adjustments if you choose.
